Fantrax previews – Gameweek 27 (Saturday)

Burnley vs Tottenham Hotspur ⚽ 23/02/19 @ 12.30pm (GMT)

Team News πŸš‘

Burnley

That stubborn Burnley outfit that we all came to know and (in some cases) love last season is back. A decent festive period, built on a solid defensive foundation has put a shard of daylight between the Clarets and the bottom three and they now look in a good position to dent Tottenham’s title hopes. Dwight McNeil and Ashley Barnes have been the catalysts going forward for Burnley, both of which are still owned in 50% or less of Fantrax leagues. Star man Johann Berg Gudmundsson should finally return this week with an ownership of 89%.

Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham have come through their injury crisis with their title hopes still (just about) intact. The headline news from Pochettino’s press conference this week is the return of Harry Kane. Whether he gets the nod this weekend is unclear ahead of the small matter of back-to-back London derbies. Son Heung Min has done well in carrying the burden without the England talisman. Four goals in five games since the turn of the year has kept Spurs in the hunt.

Tottenham Hotspur – Harry Kane: 311.5 points, 100% owned

Bournemouth vs Wolves ⚽ 23/02/19 @ 3.00pm (GMT)

Team News πŸš‘

Bournemouth

Bournemouth could be in for a difficult weekend. Facing a Wolves side in top form would be a test at any time but the Cherries will be missing three of their most prolific attacking weapons in Callum Wilson, David Brooks and Junior Stanislas. All eyes will be on their top scoring Fantrax player Ryan Fraser to shoulder the burden while much will also be expected from big money signing Dominic Solanke going into Gameweek 27. Fellow ex-Liverpool man Jordon Ibe can be put in the same catgory as he looks to take advantage of the absences.

Wolves

Nuno Espirito Santo’s team selection is probably the easiest to predict out of all 20 Premier League teams; a testament to how well his team have done. The Wolves boss was quick to allay fears over the fitness of Matt Doherty and Diogo Jota this week and the FA cup Quarter Finalists will go into their clash with Bournemouth as favourites.

Star Performers ⭐

Bournemouth – Ryan Fraser: 313.5 points, 95% owned

Wolves – Matt Doherty: 338.75 points, 94% owned

Differential Picks 🎲

Bournemouth – Dominic Solanke: 10.5 points, 15% owned

Wolves – Leander Dendoncker: 45.5 points, 12% owned

Set Piece Takers 🎯

Bournemouth – Free Kicks and Corners: Ryan Fraser, Charlie Daniels. Penalties: Josh King

Wolves – Free Kicks and Corners: Ruben Neves, Joao Moutinho. Penalties: Ruben Neves, Raul Jimenez.

Newcastle United vs Huddersfield Town ⚽ 23/02/19 @ 3.00pm (GMT)

Team news πŸš‘

Newcastle United

Two miracles are occurring in the North East at the moment. The first is that Rafa Benitez is somehow keeping this team out of the relegation zone. The second? They’ve signed a real player with real transfer funds. Saturday should see the much anticipated debut of Miguel Almiron and if he’s anywhere near as good as the hype suggests, the boy can play. He’s already 60% owned in Fantrax. Elsewhere, anyone across the backline is well worth owning this week while Salomon Rondon should find his way on to the scoresheet. Rumours of an imminent for Jonjo Shelvey can only mean more good news.

Huddersfield Town

It’s all doom and gloom over at Huddersfield at the moment and it’s easy to see why. A change in management hasn’t seen a change in fortunes and they are basically relegated. It’s not often that a team possesses no stand out Fantrax FPL assets but The Terriers really are that bad at the moment. Aaron Mooy can be useful on his day and Christopher Schindler should get some points this week through aerial duels with Rondon. Apart from that…it may be worth looking elsewhere.

Star Performers ⭐

Newcastle United – Ayoze Perez: 178 points, 69% owned

Huddersfield Town – Philip Billing: 207 points, 67% owned

Differential Picks 🎲

Newcastle United – Fabian Schar: 153.25 points, 51% owned

Huddersfield Town – Adama Diakhaby: 26.5 points, 1% owned

Set Piece Takers 🎯

Newcastle United – Free Kicks and Corners: Matt Ritchie, Ayoze Perez. Penalties: Salomon Rondon, Matt Ritchie.

Huddersfield Town – Free Kicks and Corners: Aaron Mooy, Jason Puncheon. Penalties: Aaron Mooy.

Leicester City vs Crystal Palace ⚽ 23/02/19 @ 5.30pm (GMT)

Team News πŸš‘

Leicester City

The biggest news surrounding Leicester centres around the fitness of James Maddison and Ben Chilwell, or the apparent lack of it. Both are excellent FPL assets and Fantrax owners will, therefore, be disappointed to see that they are both doubts for this favourable fixture. The big question is about who gets their minutes. Premier League title winner Christian Fuchs looks like a shoo in at left back and should provide a decent total on Saturday. Meanwhile, it’s fair to say Rachid Ghezzal is yet to fill the boots of Riyad Mahrez at the King Power. He may be handed a big chance and, with it, the set piece duties.

Crystal Palace

Roy Hodgson goes into the tea time kick off with his third choice right back after ruling out both Martin Kelly and Fantrax favourite Aaron Wan Bissaka. His biggest selection conundrum is who to select up front. Christian Benteke appears to be the same wasteful player he was before his injury lay off but we’re all dying to see an all Belgian strike force formed with Michy Batshuayi. Whether Hodgson elects to unleash that duo in a tough away fixture remains to be seen. You never quite know what you’re getting with Crystal Palace. Apart from with Luka Milivojevic and Andros Townsend in Fantrax scoring that is; they’re always good.

Star Performers ⭐

Leicester City – Ricardo Pereira: 290.75 points, 100% owned

Crystal Palace – Luka Milivojevic: 281.5 points, 99% owned

Differential Picks 🎲

Leicester City – Rachid Ghezzal: 71 points, 4% owned

Crystal Palace – James McArthur: 164.5 points, 40% owned

Set Piece Takers 🎯

Leicester City – Free Kicks and Corners: James Maddison, Ben Chilwell, Rachid Ghezzal. Penalties: Jamie Vardy, James Maddison.

Crystal Palace – Free Kicks and Corners: Luka Milivojevic, Andros Townsend. Penalties: Luka Milivojevic.
